About myVote

Know your candidates. Know their policies. myVote is published by Impartial Politics Pty Ltd (Lisa-Maree Hunt). It is a neutral place to read what candidates say, in the same format for everyone. It does not tell you who to vote for.

myVote is not the Victorian Electoral Commission. The VEC is the authority for enrolment, nominations, ballot draws and results: vec.vic.gov.au.

The two houses

You vote for one lower house electorate (Legislative Assembly) and one upper house region (Legislative Council). Victoria has 8 regions. Each of Victoria’s eight regions spans 11 electorates and sends five members to the Legislative Council.

On the upper house ballot, number at least 5 boxes above the line or at least 5 below the line. Group voting tickets are not used at this election. A how-to-vote card is a candidate’s recommendation, not an instruction.
